Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man review (UK)
Club de Nuit Intense Man, from the UAE house Armaf, is one of the most talked-about bottles in the affordable Middle-Eastern range. It is a bright, smoky, woody fragrance, sold here as a 105ml Eau de Toilette.
As with our other reviews, this one rests on the notes and mood on our product page and on how this kind of scent usually behaves. We have not run our own wear tests, so we do not claim hour counts.

The notes
| Stage | Notes |
|---|---|
| Top | Lemon, pineapple, bergamot, blackcurrant |
| Heart | Birch, jasmine, rose |
| Base | Musk, ambergris, patchouli, vanilla |
Family: Wood. Our one-line description: a smoky, bright birch.
What it smells like, stage by stage
Opening. Lemon and pineapple flash bright, with bergamot and blackcurrant behind them. It is sharp, juicy and a little sweet. This is the part you notice on the first spray, and it fades faster than the rest.
Heart. Birch smoke takes over. Birch gives a dry, tarry, leathery smokiness, not a campfire. Jasmine and rose are in there, but they are supporting rather than leading. Our mood line: a late table in a dark bar, citrus peel on the rim. That contrast, bright fruit against dry smoke, is what the scent is built on.
Dry-down. Musk, ambergris, patchouli and vanilla settle underneath. It becomes warmer and smoother, with the smoke still present but softened. If you like the citrus and smoke together, the first couple of hours are where it is at its most distinctive.
Office or evening?
Both can work, with limits.
- Office: one or two sprays. The citrus opening is clean enough, and the smoke stays quiet if you do not overapply. More than that and it fills a small room.
- Evening: three or four sprays. The smoky heart suits bars, dinners and cooler nights. This is where it feels most at home.
- Seasons: spring through autumn is the sweet spot. The citrus keeps it from feeling heavy in warm weather, and the smoke gives it enough depth for cool evenings. In deep summer heat it can get loud quickly.
Strength: what to expect from an EDT
This is an Eau de Toilette, which normally has a lower fragrance concentration than an Eau de Parfum. That tends to mean a little less staying power than the Lattafa Eau de Parfums we sell, so reapplying during a long day is reasonable. The name says Intense, but the concentration printed on the bottle is what it is: EDT.
That said, birch and ambergris are tenacious materials, and the base of this scent is known for hanging around. We will not give exact hours until we have measured them. Skin type matters a lot. Apply to moisturised skin and to pulse points for best results.
Who it's for
- People who like fresh scents with an edge: citrus that does not stay simple.
- Anyone who wants something smoky without it being dark and heavy like Asad.
- Buyers who want an affordable 105ml bottle that suits most of the year. At under £40 it is good value for the size.
The notes lean masculine by marketing, but nothing in them stops anyone wearing it.
Who should skip it
- If you dislike smoky or tarry notes. Birch is the centre of this scent.
- If you want a sweet, cosy fragrance. Khamrah is the better fit.
- If you want something quiet and clean. Look at the fresh families in the finder.
- If you need very long wear without reapplying. Consider an Eau de Parfum.
Layering
Asad adds spice and depth underneath for winter nights. For summer, keep it alone.
Verdict
A citrus-and-smoke fragrance with real character, and good value for 105ml. Wear it light at work and heavier at night. Skip it if birch smoke is not your thing.
